I do a lot of fun, weird things. Let’s play!
I’m currently based in Los Angeles, California by way of Atlanta, Georgia. I’ve been performing and creating for over 20 years, not too shabby! I’m genderqueer and my pronouns are they/them, but I won’t hate you if you use she/her. Contact is danaswanswan@gmail.com for creative goodies.

VOICE
Hey! That’s what I sound like! I’ve been voice acting since my early years working as a production assistant at Adult Swim who luckily sat near a sound booth. I’m currently represented by Atlas Talent for voice and am on Cameo here.
You can catch me every week on Adult Swim’s Toonami as the artificial intelligence co-host, SARA. I’ve been voicing SARA since SARA’s return in April 2013 and has been with her for three incarnations: SARA 3.0, SARA 3.5, and SARA 4.0. Here’s the most recent 2022 short, “The Return,” featuring Steve Blum as T.O.M. and Dana Swanson as SARA.
The Return Pt. 1 The Return Pt. 2
You can also catch my recent voice work in the short films Out for Delivery by Chelsea Crister and Hicks Happy Hour. I also co-narrated the audiobook Dateable about dating with disability.
I record promos, commercials, video games, and animation out of my home studio in Los Angeles, CA. I’m equipped with a Sennheiser MKH-416 and Shure SM7B and am set up for Source Connect Standard.
Notable other adult animation roles include Glenn’s Wife on Squidbillies, She Creature on Aqua Teen Hunger Force, and the Insane-o-Flex from Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film for Theaters. If you haven’t listened to the workplace comedy/fantasy podcast Dark Ages, go do that. I play the legal magician Malison and love that character dearly.
ON CAMERA
While I do mostly voice work, I love playing on camera as well. I’m in the short Time Realtor by Ariel Gardner and have a brief role as Nurse in Out for Delivery. Unrepresented for On Camera but sassy!
STAGE
Improviser since 2000, good at it since 2017.
As a dynamic stage performer, I have mixed karaoke, burlesque, clown, improv and standup to create bizarre and memorable pieces for convention audiences and bar karaoke nights alike. While my stage passions are improvised songs and standup, I’m currently developing a solo show because that’s what LA does to you. I also create my own music and perform that from time to time! If you have a stage that needs someone weird on it, let’s talk!
I currently co-host the event Bring Your Own Tribute Band along with David Lyons.
MUSIC
Songwriter since 2007. Singer since I could open my mouth.
My past musical projects include the infamous and beloved queercore project Le Sexoflex and my electronic covers outfit Summoner IV.
I’ve also composed songs for TV and film and really love it when the BMI checks come.
Notable aired tracks include “I Like Your Booty (But I’m Not Gay)” for Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film for Theaters and “Sleep Forever” for Gemusetto Macchu Picchu.
Currently writing more songs for you <3
ETC.
I worked at Adult Swim’s Williams Street in Atlanta until I moved to Los Angeles, CA to become yet another freelancer working from home and/or a coffee shop. During my 13 years at Williams Street, I was a Senior Writer/Producer for Adult Swim (and a Promo Coordinator and Tape Librarian prior to that magical time). I wrote and produced hundreds of spots, worked on a few pilots, sang songs about fish, hosted video game and anime-based segments for the streaming show Toonami Pre-flight, and became a voice actor.
I am a person living with a (mostly resected) rare brain tumor and have used my experience to become a disability advocate. I made a series of personal videos titled “Unfortunate Brain News” about my diagnosis, surgery, recovery, and day-to-day experience. Becoming disabled at 30 was a huge turning point in my life, and if you’re new to being disabled or are dating a disabled person, I highly recommend listening to the audiobook Dateable (pst, I’m a co-narrator).
I’m great at Overcooked 2.
